Highly Wear-Resistant Alumina Ceramic-Lined Steel Tee: Core Properties and Industrial Applications

The core functional layer of the wear-resistant alumina ceramic-lined steel tee is the ceramic lining made of high-purity alumina (α-Al₂O₃). This material features a stable corundum crystal structure, with a hardness reaching HRA 85 or above (Vickers hardness HV 1000-1600) and a density of 3.6-3.9 g/cm³ . The primary function of the alumina ceramic lining is to withstand the intense erosion of solid particles at the diversion and merging points of pipelines. Its wear resistance has been laboratory-tested to be 266 times that of manganese steel and 171.5 times that of high-chromium cast iron . Industrial application data indicates that this lining can extend the service life of pipes by more than ten times . Furthermore, alumina is chemically stable and neutral, offering resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, and organic media within specific temperature and concentration ranges.

Wear-resistant alumina ceramic-lined steel tees are used across various high-wear industrial sectors. In thermal power systems, they are employed in coal powder conveying pipelines, pulverizing systems, ash removal pipelines, and dust removal systems. In the mining industry, they are suitable for slurry transport, tailings transport, concentrate transport, and clean coal transport pipelines in heavy medium coal preparation plants . In the iron and steel metallurgy field, they are used in blast furnace dust removal systems, slag transport lines, and material conveying during smelting processes . In the cement industry, they are applied in pneumatic conveying systems for raw meal, clinker, and fly ash . In the chemical sector, they are suitable for pipelines conveying corrosive and abrasive materials . At port terminals, they are used for slurry and sediment transport . Additionally, this product can be used for special applications such as molten aluminum transport.

During selection, factors such as medium characteristics, particle size, conveying temperature, and impact angle must be considered to determine the ceramic layer thickness (typically 4-20mm), alumina purity, and outer pipe connection method (flanged, welded, etc.) . Although the initial investment for this fitting is higher than for standard steel pipes, its significantly extended service life and the substantial reduction in downtime and maintenance costs make it a highly cost-effective solution for severe wear and corrosion conditions.
